Q - Why can’t I have a showerhead if I'm on gas hot water?
A - The program has been developed to provide a means to reduce the amount of greenhouse emissions. Electricity is the major cause of greenhouse gas due to it being created from burning coal. The program is funded from the burning of coal. The program is funded from the sale of carbon credits to the energy retailers and corporations and these carbon credits can only be collected when a water saving showerhead is fitted to homes using electric hot water systems.
Q - What if you don’t like the type of showerheads on offer?
A - You may simply retain your existing showerhead and we can install a water saving flow restrictor, which achieves the same water and energy efficiency as a water saving showerhead.
Q - Can I choose the brightness of the bulbs?
A - Yes. When we visit your home we help you choose from 16 different types of energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs. These light bulbs are available in different brightness levels and wattage to suit your individual preferences for each room.
Q- What if I don’t like the brightness of the energy saving light bulbs? Do you come back and change them?
A - Unfortunately no. The program is designed to assist households and businesses save money and help the environment by reducing the level of energy usage and in-turn reduce greenhouse gas emissions. If we were to return to premises and change the light bulbs back, we would be in breach of the Greenhouse Friendly and NSW Government's Greenhouse Gas Abatement scheme initiatives and our accreditation for the programs.
Q - If I am not happy with the shower and it is not as good as my old one, will you come back and change it?
A - Unfortunately no. If we were to change the water saving showerhead, we would only be able to replace another 3 star-rated water efficient showerhead. The program is designed to assist households and businesses save money and help the environment by reducing the level of energy usage and in-turn reduce greenhouse gas emissions. If we were to return to the premises and change the showerhead back, we would be in breach of the Greenhouse Friendly and NSW Government’s Greenhouse Gas Abatement scheme initiatives and our accreditation for the programs.
Q - Who will come to my house?
A - One of our fully trained and qualified water and energy assessors will visit and fit the water and energy saving products. They will also be able to show you many other ways of saving water, money & energy.
Q - Do I have to change my energy provider?
A - No not at all. However we can give you some advice on alternative sources of energy including "Green" or "Renewable" energy providers and at least give you a good place to start.
Q - Can they change down lights?
A - Not at present. The available technology is too expensive to provide free as part of this program, however we can give you free advice on new alternatives in the market pace.
